Members will begin receiving CSA boxes on June 21st 2020. They will then receive a box every week or every other week based on their preference for 17 weeks total. Those who sign up through Harvie will also have the option to put their box on hold if they will be gone that week.
|
We have 3 different share sizes to choose from; single, couple, and family. You also have the option of having your box dropped off every week or every other week. When you sign up you can rate all of the vegetables we grow and the Harvie algorithm will create a custom box of vegetables every week. We also offer egg and pasture raised chicken shares.
SustainableAt Fainting robin we believe in sustainable farming. This is our home too and we want generations of people and wildlife to grow and thrive on this land. We use compost crops and low till farming practices to improve our soil. We encourage native plant life so in turn it can feed and home the native wildlife. We don't use harmful pesticides and chemicals that contribute the the decimation of native populations.
|
We have two options for you to receive your box. You can stop by the farm to pickup your CSA share and see what is happening on the farm or you have the option of having your box dropped off at home.

Biointensive
Biointensive agriculture is an organic agricultural system that Produces maximum yields from a minimum area of land, while at the same time works to increase the fertility of the soil. The goal is to not only use our land efficiently but also to leave our land improved for future generations.
|
Heirloom
Many of our vegetables are heirloom vegetables. Saving seeds protects the genetic diversity of our vegetables for the future. heirlooms provide us with an opportunity to produce plants that will be perfectly adapted to our farm.

our story
At Fainting Robin we believe in using growing practices that are both efficient and enhance the health of our environment. We use biointensive and organic growing practices and now we will be adding Harvie giving each of our members a completely custom box and reducing food waste in the process
Our story began in Washington state where Carey and I met at Alderleaf Wilderness College. There we learned about permaculture and where inspired to start our own farm one day. 8 years and many, many farm internships later we were ready to start our first CSA season on our farm. We moved back to my home town of Elk Rapids where we found the perfect 20 acres for us. We where lucky to find the Wells who were organic farmers retiring and looking to sell some of their land to a young organic farmers.
